I heard Joan Jett's take on an old vinyl 45 I borrowed a while ago. Like it better than the original.

What about Siouxsie and the Banshees' Peek a Boo (Jeepers Creepers)? Does that count?

There's always Clapton's Motherless Children and The Stones' Just My Imagination.

Looking forward to hearing this sometime.
Because of the connections and connotations the song has for me, Isaak has a steep mountain to climb.
Just my 2 cents.

Yes. Just yes.

Also, I like the Arctic Monkeys' cover of Diamonds Are Forever.
And we cant forget Klaus Nomi's cover of Lou Christie's Lightning Strikes
YouTube - Klaus Nomi - Lightning Strikes
Klaus Nomi has such a great falsetto voice, it reminds me of a large German opera singer lady

Also, the costume he is wearing is based on a costume David Bowie wore in one of his concerts, which Klaus Nomi was actually in
here it is: David Bowie and Klaus Nomi - AOL Video
Klaus is the pasty one wearing black

Johnny Cash covering Dylan's "It ain't me, Babe" and Hendrix doing "All Along the Watchtower"

Edit: Vote for most creative, funny, satirical cover of all time is Ben Folds covering Dr. Dre's "Bitches ain't crap"
