Hi everyone
 
New to the forum, and is looking for a pair of new headphones to replace my AKG K81DJ. I listen to mostly EDM/Hiphop, so I'd prefer a pair of closed over-ear headphones that has alot of bass. 
 
I'm currently looking at a pair of Shure SRH440, what do you guys think of these? Any other recommendations?

Have you tried modding the AKG K81DJ yet? I found that modding the K581 DJ turned them into a whole new headphone with much cleaner bass output. The mod would cost you $3 or $4 and would take about twenty minutes max

I'd recommend Sony MDR V6/7506, the Philips citiscape uptown, ATH m50.

Thanks for replying! Unfortunately, my K81DJ died on me today, so I need to completely replace it, otherwise I'd try your method.

It's been a couple of months since I have listened to my V6s and M50s, but I wouldn't rush to buy those without trying that mod. The modded K518 are my favorite under $100 headphones I have heard.
