BEST CLOSED CAN--is there a clear favorite?

...so, I'm at Guitar Center today and couldn't help myself after reading a couple topics about the 770.

I bought a 2003 DT-770 Pro (80 Ohm)...giving it a few hours break-in before I indulge

I paid $167+tax.

This forum is bad.

I was really wanting the 2005 version but not sure if it's worth an additional $80...it sure is prettier though.

Don't mean to hi-jack the thread but... between closed headphones and IEMs, which tend to give better soudn quality for the buck? I understand this is a general question since there are so many brands implied, but is there a general consensus on this matter, or is the difference simply too disparate to even discuss?

No doubt about it for me - Closed cans sound much better dollar for dollar.

I just wanted to share my experience so far with the DT-770Pro-80.

I'm sure they can use more break-in and I intend to for many days. I'm listening to some Infected Mushroom, ZV:M (line out) into my Micro Amp and WOWZA

...and I thought the HD650 had a lot of bass. I like these things. They're a nice addition to my DT-880.

personally i find the 280 pros very comfy for me.

many people complain about them, but i like the snuggly fit.

i am satisfied with the sq but im not nearly as qualified as many others here as there are the only headphoens i have that you listed.

for 70$ or so i think they are good value
