Not enough bass for you.

Hmm come to think of it, my wife's ATH-CM3 had like no bass imho - i thought it was an isolated incident, or just something about AT buds. But I guess if the clips are like that too, it's more of a factory signature thing I can live without. *Goes back to the boom*

How would you compare the EW-9's sound to full-sized headphones like the Senns (580/600/650), and canalphones - ER-4P and UM2? If I do get these, I would be using them amped.

They certainly have the looks. I was thinking of getting these for a friend, just to save him from buying the A8 purely out of fashion sense (he's like that...

I might have to build-up to the EW-9s. But for now, i just can't afford them.
Are they confortable and fit snuggly to the ear?

I also have one more question on the KSC35's. Is there a difference between the grey and black one? I guess I found different versions of the KSC35's at these links:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/ima...&s=electronics
http://www.koss.com/koss/kossweb.nsf...e/KSC35_lg.jpg

If there is a difference, which one is better or which one do you guys have? Hopefully someone has some insight on this and i don't get stuck with the lower grade one.

Thanks!

The "grey" ones that you see at Koss are the original (circa 1980's) model. They took it out of production some time ago. There was such a continued demand for them, however, that Koss re-released them but changed the color of the driver housing and gave them a gold plug and a different bag. You may still find some of the old one's on Ebay but if you order them from Koss you will get the "black" ones. I have the "black" ones and believe me, they are awesome.

They are definitely a specialty 'phone. They're too expensive for portable cans that are going to be used rigorously, and the finish too delicate to risk scratching. On the other hand, they are just as expensive as many full sized cans that arguably sound better and are better suited for home use.

I particularly like their sound signature. They sound fast, clear and detailed to me. They do not overpower on the bass and many find them lacking in that regard. For me, they fill a particular niche - listening while laying in bed, especially in a hotel room on business trips. Honestly, I bought these primarily for their looks, although I did audition them briefly. As it turns out, I like their sound a lot.

As far as comfort goes, it takes a little adjusting. Sometimes I find the cup irritates my ear and I need to reposition, but in general they are pretty comfortable.

I may be one of the biggest fans of the EW-9 around here, but it is hard for me to recommend them unless you can get a good deal on a used pair. They just aren't very versatile.
