Best Classical-friendly headphone?

IMO, AKG K501's are really amazing with classical recordings... As a classical musician, I highly encourage that you try these(dirt cheap too...seems too unreal right!) Unfortunately for me, they are very open, and as a college student, I was afraid I wouldn't be able to listen to them at all really....So I sent mine back to headroom(probably will look at the e500's)

If you have a quiet environment to listen... 501's are great. I haven't heard the 701's, but when I was first looking for a classical phone, many seemed to hint that the 501's actually presented better for classical than the 701's...

gs-1000 for sure since money isn't a constraint for you. The soundstage, the feel, the impact, the balance...::drools::

finding the right amp is a little bit harder, but either a nice solid state or a singlepower slam model, the 6sn7/6cg7 tubes aren't powerful enough.
