My budget is £100 ($200) at most, although I'm happy to go second-hand (but not happy to wait five months for chosen can to turn up second hand...). All-rounder ideally, main strength would have to be soundstage. My research to date suggest that there are no good closed headphones at that price with a great soundstage. Am I wrong? What about ATH-A900?

x2. Just got it yesterday, listening to it now and is making me smile very wide. The sound stage is really good.

to fit that budget i've only got the Ultrasone Proline 750's, the Sennheiser HD25-1 (which isolate very well) the denon ah-d1000 which are very nice, and the equation Audio RP21, which for the price, i think are the deal of the decade.

eBay.co.uk Shop - UKPROAUDIO: EQUATION AUDIO: EQUATION RP-21 SUPERB STUDIO HEADPHONES,-NEW IN BOX, EQUATION DS-V9 HI-PERFORMANCE ELECTRET CONDENSER MIC

sometimes, i wanted just a touch more midrange definition form the Denon's but they are a superb pair of headphones.

The HD-25s are some pretty nice phones, but they basically have zero soundstage. In this department DT770s or ATH A700s do very well.
