Koss KSC75 is my favorite cheap headphone.

Superlux 668B, 681B, and 681 Evo; Takstar HI-2050 (not exactly cheap, but relatively inexpensive)--all open or semi-open

Takstar Pro 80 / Gemini HSR-1000 (same can, re-branded and re-priced substantially more inexpensively than the Takstar); Senn HD201/HD202--all closed

can be IEMs, full size, or on ear. just want some reccomendations. thanks :)

Depends on your preferences...but without know that, I'd take a look at

Over the Ear
Superlux HD681 for full size (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CAG1ZAQ)
Pioneer SE-A1000 (http://www.nomorerack.com/daily_deals/view/1307641?n=2632&pid=103232)

On the Ear
Sennheiser PX100 II (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002VPDOH8)
AKG k518LE (amazon.com/AKG-518-Limited-Folding-Headphones/dp/B002F9MFTI)

In Ear
Vsonic VSD1S (http://www.amazon.com/Vsonic-VSD1S-quality-earphones-improved/dp/B00QLBKQOC)
MEElec A151 (http://www.amazon.com/MEElectronics-Balanced-Armature-Headphone-Microphone/dp/B00E38BP40)

There are many others up to $60 that are regarded as high value purchases (especially IEMS like Carbo Tenores, Xaomi Pistons, etc.). I'd just do some thread searching and you'll find one that align with your sound signature preferences.

+1 on the Gemini HSR-1000, Amazon has them for $45 :).
And I do own them.

I like to listen to rock music primarily, and like a headphone that is as detailed and that has good instrument seperation. most of all i like a headphone that emphasizes vocals and or treble. thanks for your suggestions bro

Many of the Sony ZX series headphones have very good sound quality.  My brother has Koss Portapro but he auditioned several of those Sonys and swears that they have better sound quality than his Portapros

I would also recommend a pair of Koss but not the KSC75.....I am thinking about the PortaPro.

Or some KSC75s with a headband mod. These two really are hard to beat when it comes to cheap in my opinions
