Hello All-

In addition to listening to music I also enjoy listening to PodCasts, Talk Radio, Audio Books and Shortwave Radio. Since not much music is involved with these formats I would think that a different type of headphone may be needed to bring out the best audio quality.

What are your headphone choices for these formats and why?

Thanks,

Foley

Consider how well vocal-only tracks compress, they're very simple and lack the multiple layers and other intricacies of music with instruments.

A headphone with bloated bass and harsh treble will do fine if it just has a decent mid-range, for vocals. Of course, you might mind the sibilant "S" sound.

Just about any good headphone will suit your purpose wonderfully.

Edit: Just noticed you have HD600s. You're set.

Sounds good. I listen to a lot of shortwave radio.....that means a ton of static with a very weak signal trying to come through. If anyone has any experience with the best cans for this application it would be very helpful.

Thanks again!
