Seeking opinions on the best buds or truly portable phones for exercising, etc with iPod.

I have a set of the Sony EX70's (or something like that) that sound OK but I'm looking for GREAT sound.

I also have a Porta-Corda (which I used with my PJB) but the main reason I got the iPod is for smallness and I don't want to add the bulk of the portable amp.

Can the iPod drive a pair of ER-6's? How do they sound?

The iPod can drive my ER-4S's just fine. The ER-6 phones should work just fine.

Normally, I use my Sony EX70s though. Don't want the ER-4S ripped out of my ears on the MTA Subways.
