Hi!  I'm totally new here and I want to help my friend to get the best sound he can get.  A little bit of bass prominence wouldn't hurt.  Thank you if you decide to help me!  (I personally use the V-Moda Crossfade LP's so I think my friend would want a sound signature that is something similar to it)

Sounds like a good candidate for the Panasonic RP-HTF600. Other budget favorites are the Samson SR850/Superlux HD681. Lots of reviews on these particular headphones here so just do a search and decide what you want.

RP-HTF600 are a great set, if not a little harsh on the ears.

Harsh? It's not even a neutral sounding headphone regarding treble/highrange (highs a little veiled). If you think HTF600 are harsh sounding you are just used to veiled highs headphones/IEMs in the past. Or perhaps you have removed the foam in front of the drivers?

I also suggest the Creative Aurvana Live.  They regularly go on sale at amazon for  $55.  I'm not  sure how they compare co the Crossfade LP, but I's say they have a decent amount of bass.

If you don't mind something really big, the JVC HARX700.
If you "need" something a bit smaller, the Panasonic HTF600S
That cheap Beyer headphone was supposed to be great too but idunno. http://www.amazon.com/beyerdynamic-DT-235-Headphone-White/dp/B001BAKTFO/
