Really? I recently sold mine for €90 and it took quite a while before anyone made a decent bid. I'll let you know If I see a pair. Do you live in the EU?
So, I've kinda narrowed it down to the AKG K240 MKII, HD 558, Grado SR80e and SR60e. Which one of these would you guys prefer? Thanks a lot for the feedbacks. Really made me think twice about getting the DT990

Out of those, I've only heard the HD 558. I like the SHP9500 more, but then again, I only auditioned the former at a store and listen to the latter for hours daily at home.
I don't think you'll regret getting the DT990, it's one of those headphones many people will keep around for its unique U shaped and fun sound, even after getting much more expensive headphones. Granted it's probably not as accurate sounding as some of its competitors, but comparing to the above listings I think the DT990 is your best bet.
It's currently on sale for $120:

AKG K601 is right around $150 on amazon. Could be a good buy but I hear they are hard to drive. Can anyone confirm this? I imagine you would be fine with the fiio though.
^This. The like new Q701 would definitely provide the clarity (probably the 240s or 6XXs as well...haven't heard them though). For that matter, so would the Grados. That said, if I was only buying one, I'd choose AKGs over Grados.

Yeah. For $120, and you were already leaning toward these and would prefer to stay close to $100, this seems like a good deal. Check Adorama's return policy. I believe you have 30 days to return them if you don't like them.
Guitars sounds the best with Grados, acrostic or not they sound very detailed and good on my Grado sr80e..some would say Grado aint comfortable, but to me they are really light weight and comfortable.
not to mention they are the most moddable headphone out there(as far as i know).
