I'm trying out recording with my pc... but I don't know what and where to get the most recommendable audio recording shareware/freeware for this.

Oh and by the way... What's the minimum required soundcard to be able to record and playback (also record and playback at the same time) audio in the pc?

audacity is simple and fast. Won't do professional level multitracking or anything, but it'll get you started. http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
