I second Java's emotion. Musical Fidelity X-Can V3 with X-PSU POWER SUPPLY UPGRADE. Very trouble free set. Love it with my 701's--$950

go balanced - for around $1600 you can get a Beta22, GSX; or under that, an NX33 or HR desktop.

I am very interested in matching balanced amp with my K701.

Soundwise,what is the advantage and how different it sounds? If I were to go for it, I am hoping to get HR desktop.
