what would you feel is the best portable amp for the D2000's?
I will be using my custom IEM's for my 'on-the-street' but for listening/studying in the library/coffee house/etc I plan on using full cans so I need something portable (can safely be put in backpack or pocket).
If possible, around $150 is what I'd like to spend but less is better of course!
I've looked at the iBasso T4 and Mini3 but don't know how they would pair with the headphones so.....
Any suggestions?

It's expensive, but the Ray Samuels P-51 Mustang pairs very well with the D2000. A little (lot) cheaper is the iBasso D10, which also gives you a DAC and the ability to customize the Opamps. The D10 is bigger, but is transportable. Also, take a look at the Practical Devices XM4; but I would suggest purchasing a WhiteCat Opamp upgrade to go with it.

Hope it helps...

Thanks for the suggestions but $375 (p51) and $275 (D10) are a far cry from the ~150 I planned on spending as I said in my original post. I may look for used but I cannot spend 300+ right now on an amp

I would also say to take a look at the Practical Devices XM4. It sells at your price point. $135 + $7.00 shipping. I would suggest adding the lithium battery and charger for $22.00. Has selectable gain, which may be of importance for the D2000. I have an XM5, so my experience with the D2000 may or may not match what you will see with an XM4. D2000 are really great cans. Enjoy.

I understand. It was all I could think to suggest. The Practical Devices XM4 that otello66 and I mentioned is an excellent amp for the price. You can always upgrade the Opamp later.

P.S. I have an XM4 with the AD8620 WhiteCat and a set of D2000 headphones. They work well together.

I will look into both of those
But, in the mean time, anyone else?

Is it just a diameter problem between the plug and the onboard jack? I plan on recabling them at some point so that may not be a huge problem but if the jacks are 'universally' small/large, then I may have to consider an extension

Well for $99, that looks hard to beat!
The fact it is a DAC/Amplifier combo only adds to it

However, any other problems with the jacks?
Is it on Denon's end or the amps end?

Hmmm
Well, I suppose being snug is better than being loose but a recable will fix that i assume

Solo SRG seems to work very well with Denon's, according to alot of people.
