Best alternative to Bose Triports? Mine busted :(

Look into the Denon D1001's. very comfy.

Also, don't throw out those Bose. If they won't replace them, either sell them on ebay as a broken item or send them to me. (or someone else)
I could probably fix them...

M50s do sound good (though not better than Triports IMO), but they are hideously uncomfortable. I couldn't stand wearing them for morethan 15 minutes.

Something tells me you'd also love the DT770.

I think that what he'd love is Bose, because it's Bose.

As to the OP, I'd say ES7. If you want to spend a bit more, ESW9 or a good IEM like the UM3x, but the ES7 is easy on the ears, very pretty, certainly more durable than the Triports and definitely better sounding, but the last bit isn't so hard.

For comfort, good sound quality, and price, I would look at a pair of Denon D1001. They have a similar sound signature with the AE's and still block out a decent amount of sound. They should only set you back around 90 bucks off of Amazon. I would also say they have better build quality (although the cable is still pretty thin).

Do a search here to find some reviews and see if they tickle your fancy.
