I am looking for a comfortable semi-portable set of cans that have ample bass and sound good over all. I do not have a portable dac / amp so a recommendation for a great matching set would be ideal.

I am new to head fi and just now getting my home listening station setup. So far I have Schiit Mjolnir 2, Audio GD R2R 11 on order and two pairs of Audeze ( LCD-2 & LCD-X ) on order. I have seen a few smaller set of headphones that might be ideal, but again, I don't have the experience to make that call. Here are a few I can name off the top of m head: V Moda M-100, Audeze Sine, Oppo PM-3.

ATH-ESW9 for me are the best bang for your buck portable if you can get them ~$100

Thanks but I was wanting something in the price range of $300-$400. Not saying that the amp you recommended isn't good. In fact.... I'm going to check it out. I also take heed to others advice. Thanks man!

You could wait a few weeks and get a Fiio Q5. Has pretty good specs.
