I used to think the same way too, but there is some seriously killer music still being made- you just need to dig harder. Forget what's popular, the mainstream doesn't know what good or even real music is. Bands like Gojira, Sheavy, Mastodon, Ghost, Down, Gates of Slumber, Dawnbringer, Daylight Dies, Witchcraft, Skeletonwitch, Warbringer... all some world class musicians that are still putting out amazing music. Of course, it all depends on your taste.

Not sure if you were referring to me (see my avatar) or just in geneal-but I agree-Siamese Dream is the better album than MCIS, although it lacks the lacks the monster hits that they are known for. But Mayonaise, Disarm, Soma are untouchable imo.
