I'd perfer more bass, but not as much bass slam as DT770's,
more bass than ATH-A700's. A700's were a bit to anemic for me.

Any suggestions?
Any opinions on AKG K 272 HD's?

You will not like the k271s, then. k240's perhaps.

Why akg? Beyer does this sound signature great with the DT250.

The 240 or the 242's? Which 240's? From what I've read the 240's are crap [well, at least the 240s].

TBO, AKG has the best aesthetics, and I don't want a bass slam, but I do want more bass than ATH-A700's.

I don't think many current AKG's have much bass - I haven't heard the k240, but I know for certain I wouldn't call the k701, k601, or k271 "warm". The k601 might be the warmest of the three, but I wouldn't call it warm compared to other headphones generally.

Supposedly the k240 has more low end than the k271, but I don't know how much. I have no idea what model to recommend, but I'd imagine the older k240m and k240df would be in the rare/hard to find category.

There are many, many threads about the k240's qualities, some even written by people that have heard a pair.

I've read that the brand new 242HD must be a damned good can (in difference to its antecessor). Same bass punch, but "beyerish" cool mids and no rolled off top end any more.

Same bass punch as what :O? as the DT770's? Or as the A700s? How would you stack their bass to these cans?

Same bass punch as the old K240S - less than the DT770. But remember, that's all just hearsay from my side.

Compared to K701, K271S is a king of warmness. It has considerably more bass too.

I don't agree, at least not with may pairs out of a GLite. (or an 0404). Neither is warm but the k701 feels like smoother treble.

Neither hold a candle to a DT250 in terms of warmness.

Funny, it sounds completely opposite to me, including treble smoothness part.
For how long do you own your K271S?

Only about a day, but I'm not a burn-in believer.
