What would be a good amp for the RC-10's if I were to go with them?

I don't know specifically, but something like the ONKYO 9555 (or the newer Onkyo's), or the NAD C326BEE should do the job nicely I reckon.

The RC-10s are fairly efficient, so almost any amp would do. If you have or can find a used stereo receiver somewhere it would do just fine. Note that wwstereo deal isn't as good anymore, I think their 4th of July promo code was giving too big a rebate and they corrected it. Using promo code ENG10OFF for 10% off is the best you will get right now. Keep in mind that since you are in Canada, having them shipped will bring the total to more or less 400$ CAD after all the shipping charges and taxes. They are still great speakers at that price though.

Below are recommendations for used active speakers so no need for an amp.

I have owned the BX5a (5" woofer instead of 8") for about 6 mos then I upgraded to the Mackie below:

get REALLY lucky and find a $500 (normally ~$650 on LA CL) pair of Mackie HR824 MK1. Or it's little brother HR624

The Mackie's go down flat to 39 Hz +/- 1.5 dB. I have had the HR824's for about 9 months. These have A LOT of bass. 8.75" sealed woofer with radiator. It has some EQ switches on the back to compensate for room placement as well.
 
I highly recommend the HR824's if you can stretch your budget. You can always sell them again for close to if not the price same you paid for them.
