Hello guys! I was looking to buy a new 2.1 system since my H&K SoundSticks II crapped out on me.  I've narrowed it down to a few systems but I couldn't find a lot of info on the Cambridge SoundWorks Extreme 2.1.  I've heard a lot of good things but was wondering what you guys think about them.  I am looking at the following

Cambridge SoundWorks Extreme 2.1

Klipsch Promedia 2.1

Creative GigaWorks T3

-and any other's that you guys suggest!

I'd go for the latter, probably.  The 8" sub's better than most of those computer speaker subs, but still lacking.  You could probably upgrade to a

I saw the swan m10's but i was afraid that the 5" sub wouldn't be enough. I do like to listen to techno and crisp clean bass is what I am looking for.  You think that 5" would do the job?

So you're saying it would be better to build my own system then buy a complete system?

I would be pretty surprised if the Dayton system wasn't much, much better than any of the systems you listed.

My only experience is with the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1. I had it for a couple of years and never cared for it. It was loud, but didn't have any other redeeming qualities.

I have been happy with an about 100 dollar Altec Lansing 2.1 set I bought almost 9 years ago.Even happier now because they are still working and don't need to be replaced. That leaves me more money to spend on headphones.

The edifier S730, has plently of crisp clean bass, the Cambridge SoundWorks Extreme 2.1 looks like a decent system but plastic/metal tweeters can sound harsh at high volumes, the edifier has silk tweeters which never get too harsh.

The edifiers are really nice, but just a tad too much I think.  I really like the cambridge soundworks but I really haven't heard of a lot of people owning them so I am just unsure of buying them
