Here's my setup:

Airport Express -> cable -> Mapletree Audio EAR+ amp -> Grado SR225 headphones.

Almost none of my iTunes library is lossless - most of it is between 192 kbps to 256 kbps. And I would be using the Airport Express' on-board DAC - don't have the money for an outboard. So I'm obviously not looking for something top of the line - just something where you're paying for better components rather than apple/monster cable branding.

how much of a difference would the blue jeans cable be compared to say a Belkin RCA to 1/8" cable. I would be connecting the cable from my Audioengine A5 to my TV.

i'm not sure anyone can give you a definitive answer to that. my guess is no difference, especially when using a TV as source.
