best £200 portable player that supports gapless playback?

i love the recent sony players but they don't do gapless. well they do but it is a pain having to re-rip albums via sonicstage

. is there a sub £200 player out there with fantastic sound quality that'll do gapless with albums that have previously been ripeed in .m4a or mp3 formats?

iPod Classic. If you use a good LOD and amp, it actually sounds excellent.

rockbox is great, but i can't really say I've had a great run with classics, 3 throughout the year in fact, I'm not sure if it is just that they came second hand, or whether it is just harddrives.
Other than that though, A classic is a good way to go, if you have a lot of music.

had mine for over a year, got it as a refurb from apple, rockboxed since the beginning of the year, runs fine :)
 
always in a case though

......or you could wait for the FiiO X3. This should sound good, and it will have gapless playback.

Don't get caught up in the wolfson vs. cirrus debate. Judge for yourself.

Very true... My point was don't get hung up on one DAC chip... Only your ears can tell you which is better. Keep an open mind.

lets just say, cirrus is clear and neutral, wolfson is warm (subjective)
