A bad year for outstanding musicians. Brubeck then Shankar and in October Bert Jansch joined the celestial choir.
Herbert "Bert" Jansch (3 November 1943 – 5 October 2011[1]) was a Scottish folk musician and founding member of the band Pentangle. He was born in Glasgow and came to prominence in London in the 1960s, as an acoustic guitarist, as well as a singer-songwriter. He recorded at least 25 albums and toured extensively from the 1960s to the 21st century.(Wiki)
Contempory of Bob Dylan and IMHO a superior musican. Also a fine song writer just maybe lesser to Dylan in this context. Look at his rendering of 'Angie' on UTube. I am currently listening to 'A Rare Conumdrum' - great songs and very high SQ.
So RIP Bert - will miss you.
