I was close to the speakers the other night and heard an audible hiss between tracks. At first I assumed it was just the caps going on my '93 Onkyo but decided to try other inputs; Nothing. All the way up. The hiss on the input with the Beresford increases with the volume knob and essentially disappears when I unplug the power cord on the DAC.
This is not a ground loop (all units are on the same circuit) and the noise is a hiss, not a hum. Anyone got any suggestions?

That's probably just the noise floor of the DAC, if it increases when you up the volume and disappears when the DAC is off.

It really shouldn't be all that audible, granted everything has a noise floor but if the hiss is sounding like Airs "Moon Safari", something isn't right with your source.
