Hey all!

I'm kinda noobish and new to the headphone world as well as this forum. But I was wondering what kind of benefits I could expect to gain from using a DAC & amp such as the iBasso D2 Boa. I'm running my Denon's straight out of my laptop right now and they sound pretty darn good already.

You'll get a nice bump in SQ. Built in soundcards are notoriously noisy and not all that great in sound reproduction. You will get deeper blackground, more detail and a more refined presentation across the board. I don't have personal experience with iBasso's products but I can tell you your Denons scale nicely when you throw good kit at it.

I dont know if you use mac or pc.
you should look into using ASIO drivers.
from what you said it can go from good to awesome
its a softmod to work around the degradation of audio
you can even use the crappiest game headset and notice the difference

I'm definitely new to this hobby as well, but I just bought the AH-D1000s (same thing as the 1001s), to use with my D2 Boa. The Denons sound great with the iBasso. Much better than the stock headphone out, which is terrible on my Dell notebook.
