muziqboy and soundsgoodtome, I'll have warm Yggy in tow as usual. Plan to do my basic no tweak setup near you, do some baseline listening, then will be thrilled to tap into Rednet/Dante as you've suggested. I can bring some coaxes, a couple are 5 feet, most are BNC. Looks like Rednet 3 outputs through RCA. I've got some adaptors too.

Andrew, want me to bring that battery usb cable you asked about? (Probably destined for the scrapheap now):D

Cool! And if you have a longer AES/EBU digital cable or toslink, you can tap from my cascaded double Mutec MC-3+ doing chained re-clocking and see if you hear any improvements as well.

Sounds good Glenn, my prediction is you'll be ordering at least a rednet by the end of the meet if not the full boat with the mutec :)

I'll be calling focusrite to see about getting the toslink output working to multiple DACs since I can't seem to figure it out. Worse case scenario I'll put a t connector on the spdif out and run two coax cables to two dacs.

I'm ready!

Should be the first meet anywhere in Head-Fi land with RedNets incorporated in the rigs!

So awesome... I'm hoping we can attach several DACs and amps simultaneously and be able to do some quick A/B with different headsets while the same reference audio stream plays.  I'll bring my TOSlink cable.

Big Poppa will be shotgun in the Hot-Yggy-Mobile. Don't know if he'll have the Breakfast-Bloody-Mary in hand.

Bad news guys, the Rednet are not capable of outputting the proper TOSLINK signal to our DACs as they are using ADAT format and not SPDIF. ADAT is common in pro sound as it can carry up multiple channels in one signal whereas our SPDIF is 2ch and the two are not compatible. The Rednet are however able to output multiple dacs via AES/EBU breakout cable (plus needed AES/EBU to SPDIF adapters if needing BNC/RCA input) but @Muziqboy and I don't this cable handy. So... I will bring my Matrix Mini-i super mid-fi DAC (that sounds good to me) which happens to have a SPDIF pass-through so that itself and another DAC can share a signal. With this setup, anyone who would like to try their DAC with the rednet is able to daisy chain from my DAC to hear what their DAC sounds like with a rednet. Not the solution I was hoping but it works

So the good news bad news, from my phone call to Focusrite and having a chat with their Rednet specialist: The good news is the Rednet 3 is capable of outputting to multiple DACs and I've confirmed this to be possible but only via AES/EBU breakout cable (Tascam format not Yamaha). The output signal on the optical is not your standard spdif optical but adat optical widely used in pro sound. Unfortunately our DACs are incompatible with only 2ch optical spdif. ADAT is capable of carrying multiple channel signals over optical where as spdif is your standard 2ch; in short the Rednet 3 can't output to our DACs via optical without some kind of conversion from ADAT to SPDIF -- which I'm not sure exists. I'm sure it does but having it in the chain will probably defeat the purpose. So unless you're using a DAC that takes ADAT via optical input, the R3 can not send a signal to your DAC.

discombob, is wi-fi going to be available?
Thanks!

Andrew, if I buy a temp Dante license now, is it viable to put your R3 into my basic setup later in the day at the meet? That would give me a pure A/B. Or is the initial setup too elaborate or complex? I'm OS X.
