I've been reading threads now for 4 hours, checking reviews, reading more threads, checking reviews, reading a contradicting post, and so on. I've been trying to avoid posting another "please choose my IEM for me" type post. I've read just about every $200 IEM relevant post I can find. However, I'm too the point where I have as little direction as I did when I started. I will nearly decide on a IEM, then find a contradicting opinions that sends me spinning. I know that everyone's opinion is different, but I'd love an opinion on my exact specs. Here are my requirements, any imput is greatly appreciated.
$200ish I could spend a bit more if needed, but I would prefer to stay under this range and cheaper if possible.
Noise Isolation I am taking a trip to SE Asia for a few months where I am going to be on planes, noisy packed buses, and who know what else. I really want something that isolates well so I can zone out when needed and be in my own world.
Sound My music is all over the map, movie scores, hip hop, jazz, acoustic, vocal. I do like bass, but the best headphones I have listened to are my current $40 skullcandy's from Best Buy. I'm not sure how much bass these have compared to what I am looking into but I def love some thump when listening to hip hop.
What I have been looking at I've been reading about REOs (read isolating isn't great but only $100), IE7s (isolating not great?), maybe IE8, Sleek SA6s (look flimsy, not sure if they will make the trip, in and out of a backpack, ect), Klipsch X10, D-jays (no idea), and I am open to others. I was thinking about some UE too but I think I read they stick out far and I might be laying down and some point. I will be powering them with a iPod Touch without an amp. Thanks in advance.
