So, I just downloaded the FLUX EP from AstroLogical today and I am seriously amazed by the amount of amazing beat makers and artists put out great music right now, mostly under the radar.

I got an email in my inbox from Jellyfish recordings talking about AstroLogical's new EP and immediately thought "woah, already? its been like a month" and was a little worried what it would be like, but it is AMAZING!!!!!

Jellyfish recordings has posted to stream and listen for free right on the top of their blog, I encourage anybody who is in to beat making to check it out, along with all the top quality stuff they got pumping out.

What's even more awesome is that a lot of their stuff is free and can be downloaded in FLAC or 320!

This will be an experimental hip hop thread in testament to the likes of J Dilla, Madlib, Flying Lotus, 9th wonder, nujabes, Damu the Fudgemunk and to some of the new great talents like AstroLogical, Knxwledge, MNDsgn, ohbliv, teebs, tight mike, chief, and many more.

Also, any beat makers here at HF I highly encourage you to post your stuff here, we all want to hear it!

Anything real hip hop, anything experimental, any kind of jazzy hip hop, any insturmentals, turn tabling, samplers, atmospheric trip hop, w/e, its all mint!

Let me just start it off with this amazing track off of Polynesian Dream from AstroLogical:

I come into every single one of these threads and mention Dub FX. That man is brilliant and is one of (if not my favorite) Hip Hop artist.

His first album 'Everythinks a Ripple' was done entirely with his voice in some way. It's fantastic. Experimental to say the least. Check it out.

Check out some of his live stuff as well. Listening to the live versions evolve as he loops and warps his voice is amazing.

Dub FX is awesome! He's definately inspired some new forms of beat boxing and i really dig his style.

That was about the last thing I expected to come up on this thread but thank you for the addition!

I mean...it is experimental Hip-Hop to the core. :D

His second (collab) album is one of my favorite 'storybook' albums ever. It really takes you on an amazing journey.

I'm excited to see what becomes of this thread though as I've been getting back into Hip-hop lately.

Haha, your right, now that I think about it.

The genre as a whole has sadly grown a stereotype of being "mindless" and "dull", since the mainstream has been painting it a bad picture for a decade, but that couldn't be further from the truth.

Hip hop isn't dead, it's just underground ;P

Hi guys,

We at H1PNUZ are working on a beat tape with underground producers from different countries (so far we have producers of France, Germany, Chile, China... on the tape).
The overall theme of the tape is “spring” (the season). So if you want to participate to the tape, you can send your beats at tunes{at}h1pnuz.com

Please, don’t hesitate to ask me if you have any question about the project. Further information can be found at http://h1pnuz.tumblr.com/post/17674759960/tunes-of-h1pnuz-vol1-this-is-a-special-service

One love!
