Just a heads up for the new meats..

I was pulling an opamp out of a socket to I could do some desoldering. Didn't have my trusty mini pocket SwissArmy knife on hand so I figured I do it by hand.. nice and easy. What could go wrong?

Well.. when the socket let go of the opamp, it rolled between my fingers. You can guess what audibles were heard. It looked like a squashed spider. I managed to straighten the leads but some feel like they were getting weak.

Luckily it was only a thirty-some cent piece and I have an extra one if I need it (wasn't really planning on using it this soon)

Just be careful and pry them up slowly and evenly. At least this wasn't a $20 opamp.

Remember to discharge those capacitors and wear some eye protection when soldering. You never know when a drop of hot solder can fling up especially when working with wire connections.

I recall many times where I took out an opamp partially from the socket to finish removing them with my hands only to have the opamp pins stab deeply into my index or thumb.
