Hi,

I run a tiny home studio and am currently using AKG 240S (55ohms). I am considering to upgrade my Monitor headphone and 770Pro is on my list (note that I may be be able to get the 80ohm version).

I have already got a pretty decent sound card FW1814 -> ADI-2 for my daily music production. Will 770Pro/250 a good choice for audio mixing / monitoring ? Is it too Hi-Fi taste ?

Otherwise, it is an open discussion or you can input any other < $250 headphone for me.

Thanks!

Meh, I don't think so. As much as I love these cans (am listening to them right now -- 600 ohm version), they are far from neutral. I'd go with something more neutral. Are the AKG's neutral?

The only thing they might be good for is mixing the bottom end of the mix (bass drums, bass, etc.).

I mix with Sony MDR-V6/7506's, myself.

It is a very bright headphone, yes, but that's what I like about it for monitoring purposes -- if you can hear freagin' everything, you're less likely to let it get onto the recording (if it's not supposed to be there, like hiss).

Another good choice for monitoring is the DT250-250, IMO.
