If you are planning on using an amp, get the zvm. Otherwise the zune is a very good option, as the headphone out is superb! I like the interface of the zune a lot better than the zvm, but the zvm has a lot more options...if you are on the go, and don't need an amp, I feel the zune would suit you better. Thats just my opinion though.

Sure! The zune does respond well to an amp, but the zvm SQ is superior amped.

By the time a ZVM will need a new battery (couple of years at least) the warranty will be long gone.... so not an issue at all.
