You can have the XB700 for less than $100 USD on the web.  I would go with that.

guessing the xb700 is better than the xb800 also if that's the case i guess i could sell it later when they're all gone if something better comes up.
also which one do you prefer xb500 or xb700 or v55?
i prefer deep rumbling bass. the kind of bass you get from subwoofers

Good isolation for an on-ear and comfortable don't usually go hand in hand together, IME. If you still remember, how hard is the clamp?

i'd say a little tight/strong, but definitely not bad.  i have a gigantic head so not sure if that would affect it; may be loose on a smaller head.

didn't feel any unwelcome pressure or anything, seems like they take a minute or so to settle in/seal completely.  didn't leak as badly as the XB500s either IIRC.  probably a better set overall for portability vs the XB500/700.  bass isn't as punchy as the XB500, but probably better subbass?  again i'm probably not the best to critique this.  also don't have experience w/ beats at all (mostly cause of image and general consensus  on this site, also find them way too trendy and a little hideous looking personally as well as too expensive), but i don't find them as muddy and veiled as HiFiGuy528 appeared to.   pretty nice for the price and probably more in tune to the signature i prefer (good clarity but also fairly powerful bass)

So I spent some time with the XB700 & XB800.  I have to say that the XB800 sounds veil when compared.  The bass is a bit flabby, lack control.  The comfort level is not as high as the XB700 either.  I can't say it's a step up.  The only thing I see good about it is it's more portable, but it doesn't come with a case or pouch.

They do look better but that is the cost of losing the ultra megasweet cussions of the old series and the 2 bands i don't like that goes sideways it's better straight down like the old one better get the old xb500 before they are sold out haha

 What about XB500 vs 600?

Gave the XB600 & XB800 some ear time last night after over 24 hrs of break-in.  The XB800 is definitely the better buy in terms of sound.  It is a lot more open with smoother midrange.  Bass is boomier.  I feel the bass on the XB800 could be a bit more controlled.  Is the XB600 bad?  No, but the price increase from the Xb500 makes it harder to recommend.

The vocals on this tracks sounds great on the XB800.  No, this girl in the video is NOT Sia.  I listened to the CD, not the YT video.

The mdr xb700 just arrive today  and the bass is awesome. Hook it up with the fiio e11 and it turns the headphone to ultra bass!!!!
One thing I don't like though is how squishy the cushion is. The cushion itself tends deform and sag a lot
