Hey guys,

Recently put ML on my 550d which opens up great possibilities for audio, one being live monitoring through the mini USB jack.
Problem is the output is line level so it's pretty quiet when trying to keep gain down and prevent clipping.
So I figure I need a basic amp where cost, size and portability are more important than sound quality.

Looked up making something up but saw THIS for $7 and thought it might save me some trouble.
I can solder in RCA jack for input from the USB AV cable and was intending on soldering in a 9V battery snap.

2 things I'm not sure of.

Will a single 9V rechargeable battery provide enough power for this sort of application?
If I was to plug 9V adapter into the DC jack while the battery was still connected what would happen? (I'm hoping it would charge the battery while powering but pretty sure that it needs a resistor somewhere, via a switch maybe?)

Any other reasons this would be a bad idea?
