Wow! This thing works quite nicely!
I plugged in a few groups I like, varying the style a decent bit but keeping it reasonably similar:
Dream Theater
Nightwish
Gamma Ray
Helloween
And it reccomends to me:
Tristania, Therion, Within Temptation, Iced Earth, Queensryche, Skyclad, LTE, Rush, Theater of Tragedy, and many others! It actually works!
What it does is it takes bands that you say you like and it looks to see other groups that other people said they liked and also liked that group. It is quite simple, and very nifty!
Just don't screw up the ratings by adding little known groups with others that are rather unlike each other (Say Therion and Aqua), unless you want the search to tell people that Aqua is like Therion.
