I just bought a pair of balanced monoblock amps for my speakers, and I am considered hooking them up to my Little Dot DAC I.
I need the LD DAC in another room for headphone use, however, so I will need a new DAC in my living room for this setup.
Can anyone give me an updated suggestion for music listening balanced DACs? I like the LD, and I might even buy another one, but I just want to know what is out there. Max price is about $500.
I am also interested in something that could take the 2.0 signal from the DAC and filter it to 2.1 for a sub as well. Ideally, I would like something like this: COMPUTER/COAX SPDIF ->> DAC ->> 2.0 -> 2.1 ->> AMP ->> 2 SPEAKERS + Sub.
Finally, the Little Dot, does not, I think, decode DTS or DD. Do any DACs handle that? That would be a bonus.
This unit does what I am talking about, but it costs $1400 and has a lot of whistles I don't really need: http://us.marantz.com/us/Products/Pages/ProductDetails.aspx?CatId=AVSeparates&SubCatId=&ProductId=AV7005
