EDIT: Typo on the dollar amount - I'm looking at $4500 and less, not $1500 and less...obviously there aren't many choices in balanced low cost amps.

Looking to drive Senn 650s in balanced config. Would prefer tubes, but all recommendations are welcome. Obviously, portability is not a concern - this is for the office.

I would contact Mikahil at www.singlepoweraudio.com and see how much he would charge for either a PPX3-XLR or MPX3-XLR. Dont know wether he can keep them in your price range but if you prefer tubes either would mate well with the HD650.

You could also give the Gilmore Balanced Reference a try, it's a bit over your range around 1600.

Since the announcement of HeadRoom's new product line, I have seen quite a few Blockheads floating around on EBay. I didn't follow the sales to the end, but prices were well below the $3,888.- retail and come with the Cardas crossfeeds.
