I wanted a better cable with a 2-pin and actual ear hooks - the 3.5mm was not the issue with the original CHU.

May be additional cost of MFi licensing isn't worth yet as Lightning is on its way out but I do hope more IEM manufacturers move forward with Type-C connector and bring MFi along if that's how Apple like to charge us.
