Can someone please recommend me a definitive modern performance on Vinyl.

My favorite so far is RCA Victor - Janos Starker. I only have the CD.

I do not enjoy Yo-Yo Ma.

There are two favs for me:

1. Janos Starker - RCA Victor Red Seal CD
and
2. Janos Starker - Mercury Living Presence on vinyl. AWESOME, especially when remastered! I think the box set costs around 100 bucks.

They really don't get any better than Starker - Mercury Living Presence.

Another vote here for the Starker CD set. His chelo has a really sweet warm sound.

I haven't heard the Starker, but I really enjoy the recording by Pierre Fournier.
