Searching for a pre-amp with good headphone facilities, I have come across the Audio by VanAlstine T7 hybrid pre-amp. It appears that they have incorporated headphone capability not as just an add on, but as one very competitive with other dedicated head amps. Though the price appears to be quite reasonable for their basic version, I have seen little interest for it on this site. Has anyone tried this piece or have done a comparison with the T7 and other amps?

AVA was the first manufacturer to use the opamp/buffer headphone amp in a commercial product and i would not be surprised if the headphone output is either this circuit or a buffer following the gain stage

The tube/hybrid circuitry is the same thing-tube gain stage with a class A mosfet buffered output

Never heard the T7 but all other AVA products i have heard were very very nice .
