hi all,

i'm running debian etch and have just tried to install a chaintech av710 card. i'm having some issues.

what i know:

the motherboard sees the card:
lspci | grep "Envy"
00:0a.0 Multimedia audio controller: VIA Technologies Inc. VT1720/24 [Envy24PT/HT] PCI Multi-Channel Audio Controller (rev 01)
the ice driver doesn't seem to want to load:
dmesg | grep "1724"
ice1724: Invalid EEPROM version 1
and alsactl store and restore give no output.

oh and my irqs look really strange:
cat /proc/asound/cards
0 [AV710 ]: ICE1724 - Chaintech AV-710
Chaintech AV-710 at 0xe300, irq 201
1 [UART ]: MPU-401 UART - MPU-401 UART
MPU-401 UART at 0x330, irq 10
anyone got any ideas what i should try?

thanks!
