Well I just received my AV710 in the mail. I haven't tried it out yet because, if you have noticed in the for sale forum, everything is gone. I went with the AV710 because if/when I listen to music on my computer I will at least have a decent soundcard.
The problem I have encountered, however, is I wasn't aware that the AV710 doesn't have a firewire port. I would like a firewire port for my ipod. What should I do for a firewire port? I have an audigy soundcard I could plug in. Will that work? What are my other/better options.

Thanks.

Just plug in your audigy card.

Chaintech for music playback.

Audigy for gaming.

/thead.

1. Install them both, and install both drivers.

2. The way I had it set up, was that I used the Audigy as my "windows default card." Control Panel -> Sounds & Audio Devices -> Audio Tab -> set audigy as default.

3. I would leave my Headphones plugged into the Chaintech Hi-qual. output and use Foobar for playback.

4. For games and the like I used my speakers so I didn't have to unplug everything every time I switched.(I used winamp here just for ease of use, when i wanted to play music.)

Play around with it till you have a setup that works for you.
