Hi,

I plan on sending optical out from computer to my home theatre system.... which one should I get?

Is there a diff between the digital outs between av710 and the emu's ? If there is, is the diff very small that you won't even notice - or is it a night and day diff?

if digital output is bit perfect, which all of those cards are, then there is no difference.

so if that is the case why are the e-mu cards so hyped up here?

im assuming most ppl who use computer as sources would use digital out from their comp and into their dac/amp....

Not everybody here has a DAC and amps can't process a digital signal unless they have a DAC intergrated. Plus the emu is a good card.

There should a difference, but a small one. One head-fier prefers the av-710's digital output over the emu 1212m's, lol.
