interested in good quality audio from CD and mp3 using EAC.

Anyone have the combination setup?, want to avoid a separate headphone amp. would like feedback on what can be expected.

I had the combo for awhile. It was passable, but I seem to remember times I wanted it to play louder. A $50 amp made a noticeable difference.

Yeah, that did sound harsh.

He said he wanted to avoid a headphone amp. Well, without an amp, I would not consider the AV710 at all.

The AV710 is so cheap, you can afford it and a basic amp (that you'll probably want eventually anyway) for about the same price as a soundcard you could use without an amp, i.e. around $75.00.

consensus seems to be use a cheap amp, which is recommended for around $50?
