We finally did it! For the first time in 32 years, Aussies are back in the WORLDCUP Finals!!! Woohoo~~

And what a game it was!! Score 1-0 to Australia after regulation, onto extra time (aggregate goals 1-1), and then penalty shootout where Mark Schwarzer saved two brilliants shot to take them into the finals. Memorable game...Proud of ya, green and gold!

YEAH!!!

Man that was an awesome game!!!

I guessed every goal & miss in the penalty shootouts, I think Schwarzer will become a Household name for that performance :O:O

LoL, I still can't get over it!

We cant forget the legendary GUUS HIDDINK for creating a miracle once again!! What a coach, three worldcup finals with three different teams - first with Holland, then South Korea, and now the Aussies!

smuh, you have a very good point there. And for that, Mods feel free to remove this thread if you feel that it is in breach of the religion act. I'm sure Uruguay fans won't mind...

Both Holland and South Korea got as far as the semi finals so it's looking good for the australian fans

There's no reason why we can't do it. There is definitely talent in the Aussie squad with the likes of Viduka, Kewell and Brescianno and with Guus on our side, anything is possible!

6 months ago, Aus football was on the brink of extinction. They had a hard time beating Oceania teams such as NZ and Somoa (no offence to these countries), let alone even dream about qualifying for Germany 2006.

How things have changed!
