AUSDOM M05 With APT-X WorldWide Review ------Reviewers Wanted !

I forget that I'm wearing them and often walk outside, taking for granted that they'll work. Bluetooth range is one of its strong points imo. (Along with its build)

There's also another one on the way with noise cancellation as well. Great for the lawnmower!!

Today, I was working in one shed, while my player was in another shed. Portable music on your head with no player or wire to worry about while soldering.

It's the convenience that I really like a lot. Great for those times when you're pottering around the house or around the place with no wire to catch.

I have others but not as solid a connection when you move around.

That's what I'm finding. It's one of the best ranges I've had from a Bluetooth headphone. I noticed accidentally when just wandering around in my kitchen. Took some rubbish outside, for getting they were on my head and then realised that it was still working on the other side of the wall and quite a way away from my transmitter.

Then I took a walk down the garden which showed just how good this aspect of them is.

Now I've found the optimum position to give the best coverage over the entire house!!!

I also have signal across my entire house! Not much of a statement seeing as I have a 900 sq ft apartment. But I can still get it outside too.

Well, I'm becoming a right old Saddo! I've been putting the player upstairs so that it transmits even further into the garden. I can use the closest shed that way. (I have two sheds!!) One is called 'India' after the film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. My daughter iften answers the phone for me, telling them I'm in India. (My man shed)

I also plug the tv into a transmitter downstairs and listen upstairs in bed in the morning!! Anything good and I switch a mini TVs on in the bedroom to see.

Bluetooth as a transmitting medium does affect the sound, but these are very pleasant on the ear as well. They have a nice balance; especially considering it arrives after being compressed and decompressed again.

BTW, that's not a shabby size for an apartment!!!. In the UK, that's nearly a park.

I am loving these so far! Going in I expected a headphone that sounded decent for being bluetooth. I did not expect a headphone that sounded good, period. They throw a really nice stage, have great layering and, as Brooko indicated, have a mild V. The mids aren't recessed at all and there is a great vividness to the sound. I've got the HAVIT I8 for review right now, also, but these are definitely better, not even close.

One thing to note, the sound does depend somewhat on your transmitter, as does the range. I have tried three bluetooth sources. My Note 2 is a bad source. Not only will it not play more than 24/44.1, it sounds a little dull. I'm not decided on whether my Avantree BTTC200x hooked up with a monoprice 3.5mm line-out cable or Aukey BT-C1 is better, but they both sound great. It doesn't hurt that I've played them out of the DX50 or the GO V2. The Aukey has a tiny footprint, but I think the built in cable is a little treble emphasized.

Colour me impressed. A review should be forthcoming next week. Got to pump these things out. I have reviews for the Lotoo PAW 5000, HAVIT I8, this, and the RHA s500i to write before New Years. Busy busy, but fun busy.

I'm off to write my Lotoo PAW 5000 review. It's too bad I didn't get these BT headphones earlier, as that was a joy to pair.

They are pretty balanced aren't they? Bluetooth does indeed impose limitations on the sound and until a transmission process that doesn't get in the way is invented for us, we have to make the most of it. The M05 does a great job and yes, as you say, the transmitter is also very much key to the sound as well. I sometimes wonder with some devices whether Bluetooth is just an add on and perhaps not designed particularly well.

For Bluetooth, I wouldn't have thought that hi res would have made much difference to be honest, since it is compressed on the way out and uncompressed on the way in!!

Have any of you tried wired yet? Even better sound. Once you lose the compression, they behave like a more normal headphone.

Even better might well be on the way in the form of the ANC7. I have a preview set here and it looks really promising. I can't say too much yet since it's not finalised, even down to exactly what it looks like. Sound is also great and bluetooth wireless range is fabulous, like the M05. Build is also equally good.

The thing is, with a good Bluetooth range, it ensures that you won't get those awful drop outs that you can get even in the same room, or worse, a quick drop out which leads to poor synchronisation on say tv, where because of the drop out, the receiver lags behind slightly. I hate that. The M05 locks on like a limpet and stays. It has a nice sensitive receiver in there!!

Mind you, they all have good receivers in them. Range is pretty much the same on them all.

You are busy with reviews aren't you? I try to limit how much I do since it can take so much of your time. I'm currently comparing the Edifier h850 with the PJB h-850 which needs really close listening with hi res stuff to hear what's really going on. Some claim them to be the same headphone, but actually, not quite. The PJB is sometimes seen in orchestral pits for the players to monitor, which is what I use it for and now there's a cheaper version in the Edifier. There are differences, in things like driver speed, matching and damping but you have to hold your breath and listen very carefully.

Reviews can be difficult in that you want to get it right; especially on an audio forum and there's a kind of pressure!! So I limit myself to things I'm really interested in if I can. I've done so many headphones now that my place is looking like a factory.

Is your Aukey the Bluetooth 4 version? I'm using a DBPower sender and a JETech along with iPods and IPad to send Bluetooth signals. The DBPower one has aptx which helps to get a slightly better audio.

Well, they're great value for money considering price, range of wireless and the build quality. I'm using mine every day with the tv as well as music players. I really like the convenience of Bluetooth.

If you hold a sale, these will be absolutely brilliant value for money and it'll give Headfiers freedom from wires!!

How are you guys finding your headphones?

They've done a good job on the design of the M05. They're a good looking headphone. It's a classic kind of design and is built well.
