That's really saying something, considering all the different headphones in your sig.A bit over a month later and the Sierra is the only headphone I have been listening to.

Auribus Sierra; the elusive “HD600 with subbass”?

I should have maybe stated a budget. The Yamaha is way too expensive the AKG headphones don't fit my head. The cups come too far down. I do recall liking the HD 660s but Too veiled for my liking I heard the bass on the Sierra is outstanding and that is incredibly important to me as well as good treble I take it that the g-pads reduce the forward mids on the grado as I do not like the sound of grado headphones without the g-pads^In all honesty no. Whereas the Sierra follows in the footsteps of a classic natural/neutral Sennheiser tuning, Grados are far more forward and in your face. All Grados come with a large mountain of energy around 2k which puts instruments and vocals very much forward in the mix. If you love that type of sound, you’ll most likely find a natural presentation like the Sierra provides dull and unengaging.
I would recommend looking into AKGs preferably the K612 Pro, K701 or K702. These cans are also forward sounding but a) come with much better bass extension than Grados and b) are so much more comfortable with their huge cups and pads, ultimately also increasing the sound field.
If you don’t care about price, then the new Yamaha flagship YH-5000se could also be a viable option as it too comes with that Grado-like peak in the uppermids. The first thing I thought when I auditioned the Yamaha was that it sounded like a planar magnetic headphone tailor-made for Grado fans.
Best of luck going forth![]()

I'd like to think so, as well, but as with everything, we all have different "cups of tea" that fit us best, whether due to tonal preferences or differences in ear/shape anatomy. That's really saying something, considering all the different headphones in your sig.
It just struck the right nerve; for the price, it's very good and competes with industry titans.
My plan is to start selling other headphones because my preferences align fairly well with the Sierra.
Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy other headphones very much.
Aperio is sort of dormant while I wait for the GSE upgrade. My assumption is that GSE will be my top dog ultimately, albeit at a massively higher price point.
Susvara is great and has a bit of extra detail and sparkle compared to Sierra, but it gets trounced in the bass region, which is important to me.
Sierra also does a great job at treading the line between adequate bass and too much bass, which is so difficult to get right.
Comfort is another point I have to drive home.
For my head shape, the Sierra is around as comfortable as the HD 490 Pro.
HD 490 Pro IS still a hair more comfortable but less performant and enjoyable for my daily usage.
I've been using the Sierra like 6+ hours a day since I got them. I got the Meze boom mic + wire and it's been perfect for work (trs headphone end does get close to my shoulders tho). The comfort plus sound quality is quite a bit beyond what I was expecting, to be honest. I had an issue with the band, but Juan sent out parts almost immediately. Not a single regret.

Did anyone get to compare the OG with the Anniversary edition at Canjam?
Curious how people feel about the new model.

A little rude to say, don't you think? Wish people would not make off-topic comments like this. That's a man on the left
Awesome seeing Juan getting his works in other places! I really want to give the final version being Sierra a go. I got to try a closed proto in canjam 2023, and it was not bad!Auribus Acoustics Sierra in Shanghai

Have you tried Beyerdynamic? I'm not sure which model to suggest, but maybe something in their lineup would suit you.I should have maybe stated a budget. How is calling a man, a man, offensive in any way?
Lets not divert the thread from the topic, if you feel this is a genuine thing to talk about I am ok with dms about it.
As for the headphone, I had a friend with an all metal version try at Canjam NYC a few days ago and actually quite enjoyed it. Looks much more in theme with the design, and matching the grills too. Did anyone get a go with it?
