My first decent headphone arrived (Grado SR60

) today and I need a better computer source. I found a used Audiotrak Prodigy on a local forum, but what I really need is a RCA out to connect the card to my Marantz amp. I feel dumb, but the Prodigy has a color coded digital out in black/red which resemble the RCA in size and shape. Am I wrong or this has nothing to do with the non amplified RCA I need? (no, it isn't).

edit:
Ok ok, I found the answer myself -_-°.

BTW, is important to connect an amplifier thru a non-amplified out or should I simply go and buy a good rca-stereo 1/4 cable?

Only the most recent Prodigy model (= 7.1 HiFi) sports a front line out with RCA connectors on the card, while the initial model (7.1) used its RCAs on the card for coaxial/electrical S/P-DIF. The one you saw was probably the latter and hence not the right solution for you - despite not being a bad soundcard at all...

Anyway, yes, you usually just need a RCA (Cinch) to 1/4 " (3.5 mm) stereo cable - and no, you don't need to search for a special unamplified line out.
