Was interested in buying a DAP (iBasso DX50 or Shanling M1), but I'm also interested in the AudioQuest Dragonfly since I mostly store and listen to my music on my phone. So between the two are there any differences or advantages over one or the other?

Unless you're sure the Dragonfly works without a hitch with whatever smartphone you have and will have in the future, you're not sufficiently certain that it will work.

As for the DAP, whether you like drag n drop, manual tagging and folder organization, etc, will determine if you even like using the DAP. And then in a few years you'll have to figure out a way to swap out the battery if it isn't any of the Ibassos that have removable Samsung batteries.

Never used the dragonfly, so can't comment on that. Me personally prefer dap's, so i can listen to my music collection, and not have everything on my phone... Other reason why I prefer dap's over phone is sound quality....
