After being disappointed in the audio quality from dragonfly black I decided to track down the source of audio degradation. I opened the device (by cutting the housing) and bypassed the headphone amp by connecting an external amp to the Ess DAC output and I was stunned by the resulting sound. I now have more natural balanced sound better. I'm really happy I opened it. any suggestion and ideas to make it better are welcome.

Nice work, especially with wiring that small!

Can't say I'm surprised, though. The Dragonflies are fine for what they are, but there's a reason that actual headphone amplifiers exist.
