Alright, so it sounds like the M50's are headphones that the vast majority of people love, especially for electronic music. My only concern is that the cable isn't detachable and it doesn't have an in-line mic or volume controls. Then I found this:

Has anybody purchased this modded M50 set from this place before? It seems almost too good to be true, and I'd love to know about the quality of the job they do. I'm also hoping it won't create any odd sound leaks. But if they do good work and sound just the same, then that brings me to my next hurdle - the inline mic and volume controls. Since it looks like that mod requires a simple 3.5mm male to male cable, would something like this work with it?

It says it's made for the Dr Dre headphones but it's just a simple 3.5mm male to 3.5mm male with a mic + controller in the middle. Anybody think this would work? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

I read about soundprofessionals before, Nothing to worry about

About the cable: That's a knock off from the original. It should work. V-moda also sells cables with in-line mic and probably more suited to your needs.
